Tarkin's Fang was a secret Imperial base planet located in the Deep Core, near the Treskov system. It was founded shortly after the Galactic Empire was formed. Wilhuff Tarkin was the founder of this base and, after a four-day orbital bombardment of the planet, landed a division of Imperial Army forces on it and established a research facility on its battered crust. The Empire abandoned it at the end of the Galactic Civil War, sealing it up well stocked for use as a base should another war with the New Republic break out.

The New Essential Chronology incorrectly states that Tarkin's Fang was not a planet, but a base on the surface of Ebaq 9.
