Dark Skies is a short fan film about the Skywalker family and how Anakin Skywalker became a cyborg.
[edit] Plot
The film shows the adventures of a (mature and Force sensitive) Padmé Amidala and young Luke and Leia to escape the wrath of their father, Anakin Skywalker who serves the Emperor Palpatine. On their way to Alderaan, Sith forces intercept their ship over the jungle world of Benga.
Anakin pursues them on the planet and finally has a lightsaber duel with Padmé (taught by Yoda) in front of their children. Finally little Luke hits his father's head with a blaster shot, giving Padmé the opportunity to cut his body down.
Finally Obi-Wan comes to rescue them, while Palpatine collects Anakin's body, and makes him into a cyborg in order to keep him alive.
[edit] Contradictions with canon
Being released before Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, it both clashed with established canon and was later contradicted by the forthcoming movie.
A major inconsistency has to do with the fact that (as it was already known) Darth Vader was defeated in a duel with Obi-Wan, not Padmé, and his injuries are a result of lava, not a lightsaber. Also, the Skywalker children never had a time with their mother due to the fact that she died in childbirth. The movie also introduces Padmé as a Force sensitive and lightsaber user, something that was never revealed in the canon.
It is also notable that the children wear clothes similar to the ones worn in Star Wars Episode IV. Little Luke wears white farmer boy's clothes, and Leia a simple white robe.
