This year was known as Year 39 after the Great Resynchronization and Year 1004 after the Ruusan Reformation.
Fractions temporarily set this year as 'year 0', until the establishment of the Yavin-based calendar two decades later.

- End of the Virgillian Civil War.
- Desilijic crime family begins to collapse after Princess Leia killed Jabba the Hutt.
- The Galactic Empire begins its fall after the death of Galactic Emperor Palpatine, his apprentice, Darth Vader, and the destruction of the second Death Star over Endor. The Rebel Alliance later forms the Alliance of Free Planets with their victory at the Battle of Endor.
- The Alliance of Free Planets is promoted into the New Republic, with the intent to replace the Galactic Empire.
- IG-88's Droid Revolution comes to an end after the death of IG-88A in the Death Star.
- The Force is brought back into balance when Anakin Skywalker destroys the Sith. However the Order of the Sith Lords lived on, since Palpatine cloned himself on Byss for the first time.
- The Ssi-ruuk attack Bakura.
- Bakura Truce and subsequent liberation of Bakura from Imperial rule.
- Fragmentation of the Galactic Empire.
- Yevethan capture Black 15; Dushkan League forms.
- The Nagai invade a number of planets, including Endor, Iskalon and Zeltros.
